Built in 2006, the Fair Haven residence boasts the bungalow style of architecture predominantly utilized in the early 1900’s. Highlighting the importance of entry, the Fair Haven residence was designed to encourage welcoming, greeting, and gathering. The open floor plan is reminiscent of the past style and encourages flexibility and constant interaction with family. The exterior of the structure provides an asymmetrical balance in which the eye is drawn to the main entrance through the use of simple volumes and placement of a featured dormer element. Through the use of brick, concrete banding, tapered wood columns, stucco finish, and wood batten patterns, the Fair Haven residence is an example of how modern construction methods can be utilized to draw off the same principles established in earlier times.
